Disaster Restoration Professionals DRP will perform a proactive cleaning that involves facility or structure disinfection where there is no active known threat of COVID-19 contamination or exposure. The CDC encourages cleaning of high-touch surfaces such as counters, tabletops, doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and tables at a minimum.iii These same surfaces are mentioned in the CDC’s guidance for commercial spaces as well as fitness/gym equipment, Stair handrails, kitchen/Food Areas, bathrooms, Schools/Classrooms, offices, retail spaces and common area spaces.
At DRP we will continue to emphasize an offensive approach rather than reactive after the fact. However, if your business has a confirmed case of COVID-19, we have established protocols and will develop a specific protocol for your business. Cleanup procedures include cleaning and disinfection of porous and non-porous surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, tools, and/or supplies used for cleanup process, and disposal of waste. The CDC recommends usage of a labeled hospital-grade disinfectant with claims against similar type organisms to COVID-19.

About Coronavirus:
The CDC is responding to an outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that was first discovered in Wuhan City, China and as of March 14, 2020 has spread to 149 Countries. In the United States there are 2500+ reported cases. On March 11, 2020 WHO publicly characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic.
The virus known as “coronavirus disease 2019” (COVID-19) is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person or through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. As this is a new pandemic, there have also been reports of the virus living on surfaces for extended periods of time and also remaining airborne longer than originally reported. It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.

Covid-19 Response: Three Levels of Protection
Level One: Precautionary
Level one protection is for businesses that have not experienced a known contamination who want to maintain safe and sanitary environments for their employees and customers. Daily, weekly or bi-weekly disinfection is performed by DRP’s team of trained and experienced biohazard cleaning technicians. DRP only uses EPA-registered Hospital grade cleaners. Treatments can be performed after business hours to avoid business interruption.
Level Two: Possible Exposure
A Business or public space who suspect they have been exposed, require detailed disinfection and deep-clean decontamination performed by DRP’s team of environment, health and safety (EHS) certified biohazard cleanup technicians specially qualified for respiratory cleanup.
Level Three: Confirmed Exposure
A Business or public space with confirmed exposure to COVID-19 require a customized protocol that is specific to the site. This ensures thorough and proper decontamination. DRP will work with the client and local health organization to develop a plan that protects the health of their employees, customers and communities. DRP will work to mitigate the impact to the business operations.
